Early pioneers of metaphysics relating to human consciousness -Dr Carl Jung
One of the early pioneers of metaphysics relating to human consciousness was Dr Carl Jung (1875-1961), the father of analytical psychology. Jung's ideas and theories have shaped our thinking and provided a basis for modern day acceptance of human ability. A one time student of Freud, Jung studied the collective unconsciousness. He theorised that the collective unconscious was much like a large library of thoughts that are accessible to all, some people refer to this as the Akashic records. He believed that thoughts could be passed from one individual to another, from one period of time to another and from one spiritual entity to a human being. He theorised that people who displayed the ability of clairvoyance, telepathy and mediumship could connect with this library of thought. Unlike Freud, who believed that all people were driven by sexual forces beyond their control, Jung felt that the spirit, was the compelling power and that dreams were the private messages and language of the spirit. He also believed that dead spirits could communicate with the living.
