The Minor Arcana The 56 cards of the Minor Arcana refer to common every day feelings and experiences of our lives. They are divided into two distinct sections. The first section includes the 40 cards numbered 1 to 10 and the second are the 16 court cards. The numbered Minor Arcana cards describe situations, emotions and actions that we are currently facing, are about to face, or describe scenarios that we may want to consider. Whilst the Court Cards describe the behavioural characteristics of people we meet. The ace of wands signifies the start of a new venture or enterprise, it's energised with the power of inspiration and new life. The Eight of wands is a card representing speed, forward motion and full steam ahead with confidence and certainty. The five of Wands tarot card is about competitiveness and opposition to obstacles that limit our freedom. By facing competition face on we learn about our own strengths and weakness. The Ten of Wands refers to success in business and projects. It indicates the burden that success carries with it and warns against ambition in excess and taking on too many commitments.
